  • His best-known work, entitled " La Th閛pneustie, ou pleine inspiration des saintes 閏ritures ", an elaborate defence of the doctrine of plenary inspiration, was originally published in Paris in 1840, and rapidly gained a wide popularity in France, as also, through translations, in England and America.
  • To me, this was a crucial issue, to be able to substantiate our Doctrine ( Constitution 4.2 . 1 ) that " We believe in the divine, verbal and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures in the original languages, their consequent inerrancy and infallibility, and, as the Word of God, the Supreme and final authority in faith and life, " with a tangible BOOK . 
  • However, the Rev Dr Jeffrey Khoo in  Can Verbal Plenary Inspiration Do Without Verbal Plenary Preservation ? : The Achilles Heel of Princeton Bibliology corrects Ward's fallacious or erratic claims by pointing, inter alia, to the Westminster Confession s employment of Matthew 5 : 18 as proof text for its statement on the special providential preservation of the Scriptures, highlighting in particular the Bible's " authenticity " (  correct copy or  identical with the first text ) and not merely its authority.
  • Tow himself declared that he left Life B-P Church to stand for a  100 % Perfect Bible without mistake as against his assistant pastors  belief in a Bible with some mistakes but not serious since they don t touch on doctrines .  Khoo, who succeeded Tow as Pastor after the latter s death, wrote that Tow had  resigned from Life B-P Church to found True Life B-P Church so that he might continue to teach and defend the twin doctrines of Verbal Plenary Inspiration ( VPI ) and Verbal Plenary Preservation ( VPP ), and the 100 % perfection of the Scriptures without any mistake in the original languages on which the King James Version ( KJV ) is based . 
  • However the Church failed as the Court of Appeal of Singapore, the apex court in the Singapore legal system, ruled on 26 April 2011 that ( i )  the College, in adopting the VPP doctrine, has not deviated from the fundamental principles which guide and inform the work of the College right from its inception, and as expressed in the Westminster Confession; ( ii )  [ i ] t is not inconsistent for a Christian who believes fully in the principles contained within the Westminster Confession ( and the VPI [ Verbal Plenary Inspiration ] doctrine ) to also subscribe to the VPP doctrine; and ( iii )  [ i ] n the absence of anything in the Westminster Confession that deals with the status of the apographs, we [ the Court ] hesitate to find that the verbal plenary preservation doctrine is a deviation from the principles contained within the Westminster Confession ."
  • But, because these original tongues are not known to all the people of God, who have right unto, and interest in the Scriptures, and are commanded, in the fear of God, to read and search them, therefore they are to be translated in to the vulgar language of every nation unto which they come, that, the Word of God dwelling plentifully in all, they may worship Him in an acceptable manner; and through patience and comfort of the Scriptures, may have hope .  Pursuant to the principles laid down in Overtoun that the question of whether a certain doctrine is in accord with the fundamental doctrines of a religious institution is purely a question of construction, the Court of Appeal went on to hold that ( i )  the College, in adopting the VPP doctrine, has not deviated from the fundamental principles which guide and inform the work of the College right from its inception, and as expressed in the Westminster Confession; ( ii ) [ i ] t is not inconsistent for a Christian who believes fully in the principles contained within the Westminster Confession ( and the VPI [ Verbal Plenary Inspiration ] doctrine ) to also subscribe to the VPP doctrine; and ( iii )  [ i ] n the absence of anything in the Westminster Confession that deals with the status of the apographs, we [ the Judges of Appeal ] hesitate to find that the VPP doctrine is a deviation from the principles contained within the Westminster Confession .
